An animal lover has revealed an innovative way to encourage felines to eat cat food.
Going under the alias CB, the Montral Gazette contributor said he encountered problems with the way his animal was approaching mealtimes, explaining his feline would wolf down meals and throw them up, as if she had been starved for days.
However, CB then discovered a cat toy that gradually releases pellets of cat food, meaning animals cannot overfeed themselves. The contributor said his pet has been much happier as a result of this tactic and is "very cute to watch while she's eating". "She has to move around after the ball as she hunts for her meals, so she gets a little exercise and has lost some weight," he added. Last month, Daily Cat journalist Elizabeth Wasserman wrote a column for the Daily Cat detailing how those who feed their feline friend natural cat food should check its protein content.
This is because consuming protein is essential for cat health, she said.
