A blind King Charles spaniel called Ellie has been getting a helping hand when out and about by a much larger German shepherd called Leo. Their owner Julie Lander described how Leo is very protective over Ellie when they go for a walk and acts like a kind of canine dog walker, making sure she is safe and guiding her around, reported the Sun. "Leo has become her eyes. It's touching to watch them together - she follows him around and snuggles up to him," the publication quoted her as saying. The newspaper explained that Ellie has cataracts and her eye muscles have not developed properly because she was kept in the dark as a puppy until she was found and re-housed with Ms Lander. Last month, it was reported that a Lanarkshire rescue dog with no eyes called Paris has her own guide dog in the shape of a collie cross that is completely unfazed by the blind canine's condition.
