Animal lovers are being recruited by a canine charity to work as foster carers. According to the Dogs Trust, some abandoned or unwanted animals struggle to adapt to the environment within one of its 17 UK kennels. For this reason, temporary carers are needed to help needy pooches make the transition from abandonment to a new loving home. Centre manager at the charity's Evesham facility Chris Slight said such situations are rare among its 16,000 doggy residents, but a handful of caring people are needed to help with problem pooches. "The Home From Home foster care scheme provides the dogs with a relaxing home environment to help them prepare for living in a family home on a permanent basis," he remarked. Vets bills and dog food costs are covered by the non-profit body, while a £60 monthly payment is given to carers. Interested parties have been urged to contact the Dogs Trust's Evesham facility to register their intentions. Pet supplies information can be viewed by clicking here |
