A mischievous moggy is getting some rest and relaxation at a centre run by the Scottish SPCA while his owner is sought. The pale ginger cat, named Simon by the charity's staff, was brought to the attention of the Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue Centre by a concerned member of the public. He had a small head wound, which was probably caused by fighting with other cats in and around Glenrothes. Staff at the non-profit body are keen to trace his owners, as they believe he is not a stray due to appearing to be "well handled". Inspector Nicola Stewart, who rescued the feline, said Simon is "doing fine" after receiving treatment for his injury. "[He] had no identity collar or tags and he's not microchipped, but we think he may have an owner out there because he's a very friendly lad," she remarked. His owners are among those being targeted by an RSPCA campaign to encourage more pet owners to get their animals microchipped this month. This simple procedure can help to reunite pets with their owners when they go missing. Cat food information can be found by clicking here |
